The 805hp Dodge Challenger Hellcat X Is Proof There's No Such Thing As Too Much Horsepower

If you thought the 'normal' Hellcat, with its mere 707hp, was about as bonkers as the Challenger could get, you clearly hadn't reckoned on this charity's commitment to murdering tyres and rearranging internal organs
The 805hp Dodge Challenger Hellcat X Is Proof There's No Such Thing As Too Much Horsepower

We love the Challenger Hellcat, but we accept it’s not for everyone; it’s big, brash and unashamedly ostentatious, after all. Of all the criticisms you could feasibly throw its way, though, ‘not powerful enough’ probably isn’t one of them. Fortunately there are people out there who believe more horses is always the answer, such as Dream Giveaway and the New Beginning Children’s Homes charity… yeah, seriously.

The pair have teamed up to heavily modify a standard Hellcat to produce a frankly absurd 794bhp (804hp), which will be auctioned away to raise money for the charity. So how exactly do you turn the wick up on an already supercharged V8? Twin turbos, that’s how. Oh, and that’s as well as the supercharger, not instead of. We’re talking 6.2-litres of triple-‘charged ‘Murican Hemi.

Perhaps the more impressive figure, though, is the massive jump in twist. The standard Hellcat’s 650lb ft of torque has jumped to 800lb ft, which should ensure you spend most of your life spewing thick white smoke from your traumatised rear tyres. Dream Giveaway says it hasn’t had the chance to find out just how much faster its car is over the regular Hellcat, but it should be pretty stable at full chat thanks to a new rear spoiler, rear diffuser and prominent front splitter.

All you have to do to be in with a chance of taking this weapon home - as well as a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 440CI, by the way - is buy a $3 raffle ticket (and spend many thousands of dollars on taxes if you win, unfortunately).

Update: The prize includes $40,000 towards taxes.
