This Audi S3 Nurburgring Crash Is Utterly Brutal

A first-gen S3 driver dropped the rear during a touristenfahrten session last weekend, resulting in a painful Armco hit

Given that the S3’s all-wheel drive system heavily favours the front wheels, this could be a case of lift-off oversteer. Whatever the cause, the outcome is a painful one - the S3 is seen pitching into a section of Armco with violent force.

According to the uploader, neither the driver nor passenger were injured.

Hat tip to Christian!

Bloody hell. Ouch. Looks to have gone in way too fast and lifted off, then hit the brakes and sent it beyond all saving.

That’s the thing about the Nurburgring, there’s no room if you get it wrong. I’ve done track days in the past but there was plenty of run off room if it went wrong. You pay your money and take your chance at the Ring.

Too much weight on the nose, too little on the rear. Ends-up behaving like a pig, going off to dig for truffles in the undergrowth.
