We love a hot GT3 car here at CT Towers, and fortunately for us, they’ve been in abundance in the news lately. Most recently we were gawping at the sight of the new Lamborghini Huracan GT3, and joining that car on the GT racing scene along with machines like the McLaren 650S racer will be this: the BMW M6 GT3.

BMW is busy prepping this lairy wide-arched beast for the 2016 season. It sports a dramatic aero package which includes a front splitter, chunky sill extensions and a suitably massive rear spoiler. We approve.

It’s packing the same 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 you’ll find in the road-going M6 and its M5 sibling, but with less power. GT3 rules means it has to be restricted to around 500bhp. But don’t worry, with just 1300kg to haul around - a fair bit less than the near-two-tonne road car - it’ll be plenty fast.

We can’t wait to see it in action.
