Can You Work Out How The Hell This Disastrous Car Wash Crash Happened?

CCTV footage shows the moment a driver completely messed up while exiting a car wash, crashing over a drop-off and flipping onto a fire hydrant

A driver in Montana turned the simple act of exiting a car wash into a disastrous crash. The thing is, we can’t work out how they managed it - was it pedal confusion, did they genuinely think they could make the turn using that amount of steering lock, or something else?

We’re pretty baffled, so give us your theories below!

As a carwash employee I have to say almost all accidents happen because customers did something we did not expect, or just failed completely.
Like driving into the carwash too fast, or braking while in it.
Or going in with a broken sidemirror or a damaged bumper.
