Car Throttle Is Hiring: Could This Be Your Dream Job?

We're looking for an ambitious Sub-Editor and Social Media Manager to help Car Throttle reach new heights!

team-car-throttle-wide

I don’t often give Car Throttle updates, but when I do, it’s because I want to let you - our loyal community members - know what’s going on behind the scenes. Just over a year and 10 million pageviews since we brought on our first Editor, we’re ready to expand. Over the coming weeks, you’ll see us introduce new members to Team CT from the realms of journalism, video production, design and development.

But there are still two posts waiting to be filled. Because you know us and our company way-of-life best, we decided to open up applications to give you a chance at joining the team at our HQ in London.

Here are the two exciting positions on offer:

1. Social Media Manager

If, like us, you’re a Facebook and social media addict, we want to hear from you.

Social Media Manager

We’re looking for a funny, motivated, meme-loving, editorially-driven, Good Guy Greg. This social pro will help us grow our audiences on Facebook - Car Throttle, Car Memes & 10 Second Car Videos - Twitter, YouTube and yet-to-be-announced platforms.

The role requires:

  • Immense passion for cars; you’re the “go to” car guy in your social circle
  • Experience building Facebook pages and basic understanding of EdgeRank
  • Great sense of humour; know your Scumbag Steve from your Success Kid
  • Ideas for community growth and a lust to be deeply involved in a fast-growing car media brand

Perfect CT candidates will be Adobe Creative Suite ninjas (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) with basic video editing skills using iMovie or Final Cut Pro. Candidates will also be keen YouTubers (subscribing to lots of channels, and possibly even having a channel of their own). And they should make us all laugh in an office environment. Daily. No pressure.

2. Sub-Editor

We’re looking for a keen motoring writer to join our growing editorial team. You should have an excellent, in-depth knowledge of the auto industry and a love, nay obsession, for all things four-wheeled. You’ll need strong writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to quickly learn a new content CMS and understand the world of social and traffic generation.

The role requires:

  • Excellent, in-depth knowledge of the auto industry
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Ability to quickly learn a new content CMS and distribution platforms
  • Desire to help grow one of the highest traffic auto properties in the UK and scale content

Perfect CT candidates will be idea generators, keen to expand on long-form content for the site including opinion editorials and features.

You will also be required to attend car launches from time to time - perks of the job - attend driving days and go out into the car community to create truly original content.

“How do I apply?”

It’s pretty simple really. Email me - adnan@carthrottle.com - with an excellent reason as to why we should hire you. You might decide to create a video, upload it to YouTube and give your very own 10 reasons. Or you could send me one paragraph listing your immense achievements. Or you could be more conventional and send me your CV. The choice is yours.

Unfortunately, this role is location-specific, and you need to be able to work in our London, UK office. Sorry to our international fans, but keep your eyes peeled, because there will be international positions opening up in the very near future!
