On Friday 20th December, we released our final video of 2013 - a YouTube trailer. No, not some sappy, emotional rewind reflecting on a successful year of gripping car videos (okay, maybe it was a little bit emotional), but a look forward and a teaser of what’s to come in 2014 and beyond.

With January now behind us (only 320 days left until Christmas in case you were wondering), the impending Car Throttle YouTube Relaunch is upon us. Next Tuesday 11th February, you’ll be able to catch the first of four new playlists as part of our more frequent weekly content schedule. I know, right!

So what’s on the cards? First, our brand new brand (I did just say that) which is cleaner, less yellow and more adaptable than the current logo, and which introduces a new icon for you to remember us by - the Car Throttle Gate. For all of you bumper sticker fans, this Gate will also be available to buy in our new store.

Then there are the four shows, Tuesday through Friday, which we’ve been shooting, editing and backlogging over the festive period. The first of these is Readers’ Rides. Each show delves into the mind of a petrolhead and asks, “What makes us all the same? What is the common element that runs in every petrolhead’s blood?” First up, is an interview with Jonathan, the proud owner of a Lotus Esprit.

On Wednesday, we’ll release the second show, called Car Trivia. You may have seen similar videos before, like “7 Reasons Why You Need To Own A BMW E46 M3”. Arguably our most popular playlist, we’re taking cult car education to the next level!

On Thursday, we’ll go live with our first Review episode featuring the Toyota GT86. It’s a 197bhp rear-wheel drive sports car and I’ll be getting under its skin and seeing whether it’s caught on yet, a year after release. Future episodes profile the Audi S3, Caterham 160, BMW F10 M5 and many more exciting cars.

Finally, Fridays will see the relaunch of an existing playlist, and one you all love, called 2 Guys 1 Car. Alex (our Editor) and Ethan (our Producer) take to some of the latest cars with a camera and film their shenanigans. Take a wild guess how we came up with the show title…
