The Difference Between A 1954 And 2014 F1 Steering Wheel Is Astonishing
Mercedes AMG F1 released this picture comparing the steering wheel of Fangio's 1954 W196R to the more modern item found on the 2014 Mercedes F1 W05
The Mercedes-Benz W196 competed in the 1954 and 1955 Formula 1 seasons, driven by Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss. It clocked nine wins out of 12 races, and won the drivers’ championship both years. The ‘R’ version, which features a streamlined body, was on display in the Mercedes AMG F1 garage at the British Grand Prix last weekend.
