Ford's New 700bhp Supercharger Conversion Takes The Fight To The Dodge Challenger Hellcat
Ford and Roush Performance have engineered a mouth-watering supercharger upgrade for the 2018 Mustang and F-150 truck. Brace for much power.
Both use Ford’s latest 5.0-litre V8 and have space for the supercharger bolt-on. The numbers are quite juicy, too. In the F-150 the engine is forced up to 640bhp and 600lb ft of torque, while Mustang rear tyres are going to be very afraid: the output in the famous pony car is a monstrous 700bhp and 610lb ft at 12psi of boost.
That puts it right in the mix with the Dodge Challeger Hellcat, which just has a few more horses. We wondered whether Ford would develop a weapon to fight Dodge with, seeing as Hennessey has already set itself up with a Dodge Demon-fighting Camaro called The Exorcist.
Designed specifically to work with the new engine’s combination of port and direct-injection fuelling, the power output with the upgrades applies to both manual and automatic cars. There’s no indication that either gearbox is too weak to handle the extra force.
The kit comes with everything needed to install it apart from tools and expertise. Get a Ford dealer to do it and you’ll keep your warranty, too.
It will go on sale early next year through Ford dealers, Ford Performance Warehouse distributors and Roush Performance dealers.

Now we wait for a purpose built drag truck….
Oh ho ho, I’d like to see that!
I’ll take it! But only if I get the ‘hydro’ drift handbrake from the focus RS too!
What you want is an RTR Mustang.
This has given me a thought: Since the Hellcat engine is now available as a crate engine, what if someone took a Mustang and dropped the Hellcat engine into it instead? 🤔
Doubt it. A mustang engine is 10k (as a crate) and supercharger is another 10k. That’s 20k, same price as the Dodge Hellcrate, except you don’t have to buy the engine, so it’s cheaper
Plus another 2-3k for engine kit
Plus another 2-3k for engine kit
Plus another 2-3k for engine kit
Because Coyote is lighter and cheaper anyways and it can make more power with boost like with this roush supercharger
Hi there. Let me present myself , i’m your nightmare
you are just a glorified mixer.
The Mustang can at least go around corners properly, and do a few laps of a track without overheating.
Well, it’s not exactly an official conversion, so I don’t know
Jeep 🚙 trackhawck still be like #bitchplease
Time to recreate the 60’s and 70’s
Gonna hit more crowds!
Wait, what happens if you put this supercharger on a Ford GT350 engine?
geez the GT350 already has a s’charger
GT350 has 5.2 Voodoo, not 5.0 Coyote so I doubt it will even fit just like that…
It’s not the Challenger Hellcat it needs to beat because it’s common knowledge that the Charger Hellcat is the faster car at a top speed of 204mph!
