Future Jaguar Wagons Aren't Dead, According To Ian Callum

Future Jaguar Wagons Aren't Dead, According To Ian Callum

It seems rumours of the Jaguar Sportbrake’s demise have been greatly exaggerated. Little over a week ago, Automotive News quoted Jaguar design boss Ian Callum as saying: “The [estate] market is massively shrinking. I’m very sad about it but it’s a very difficult market to justify.”

Naturally, the conclusion was this meant an end to the prospect of all future Jaguar wagons, but Callum himself has since taken to Twitter to say that he was misquoted, and that he was only talking about the potential for a future XE estate. Automotive News has since apologised and issued a correction to its original article.

So, there we go: a gorgeous XF Sportbrake - or even an XF-RS/SVR Sportbrake like the rendering at the top of this page - could still happen…

Oh, thank God… Now if only colombian Jaguar dealers could sell those here. The best looking estate ever, that XFRS.
