This Guy Was So Keen To Exit A Ferry, He Drove Into The Sea

A impatient Lada driver is seen driving up the ramp of a ferry docking in the city of Kerch too soon, plunging into the sea as a result

This shocking act of impatience happened as a ferry was docking in the city of Kerch, located in the disputed Crimean Peninsula. According to The Mirror, after the Lada plunged into the sea, bystanders helped to get the driver back onto dry land by throwing him a life preserver.

Passengers had to remain on the ferry for several hours, as it wasn’t able to dock until the stricken car was recovered.

Fortunately, it went well for this guy. Kinda. In my city (with the largest ferries in the world), one of the loading ramps failed due to crew error and several cars fell 100m or so to the water. I don’t believe anybody survived. Sad day. This was only a few years ago. Now, when offloading and loading, there are a plethora of warning bells and lights and safety mechanisms.
