Here’s The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Getting All Shouty At The Nurburgring
Several examples of the the sixth-generation Camaro's ZL1 variant have been spotted undergoing testing at the Nordschleife, making lots of brilliant noises in the process
Revealed earlier this year, the latest ZL1 puts out a monstrous 631bhp and 640lb ft of torque, up from the previous car’s 572bhp and 556lb ft. It’s 90kg lighter too, so we can expect the old car’s 3.8sec 0-60mph time to be shaved down considerably.
Meanwhile, a disguised prototype of the ZL1’s Z/28 brother was recently spotted at the Nurburgring. Unfortunately though, its test schedule wasn’t without incident…

That’s just 2 minutes of video, Is there a clip where it crashes to a side barrier?
i know right!
Shots fired!
You’re doing it wrong. It’s about if there’s a mustang crashing into another crowd
The red one must be the automatic because I can hear it throwing gears all over the place
It sounds like it is. Probably GM trying to get feedback from both versions of the car to see if either of them have any issues with running on the track. Wish they would have done that with the Corvette Z06.
I still don’t get this. Why would they make such a heavy and fragile gearbox? I think the manual car will be faster around the track, just because you’re not shifting ALL the time. And it really doesn’t make sense in combination with a big ‘murican V8, an engine type well known for it’s very wide powerband.
It corners really good!!
It sounds even better!!
Tbh it looks like it’s shouting too
Yep. Ever since the 5th gen reboot, it’s always looked pissed off at everything.
And crashy
If only they had a white one on the track.. It would have been red, white and blue. #Murica
exceptionalism intensifies
Yay, now I have the dilemma of either sticking with my current ZL1 or getting this
This one is lighter and more powerful, decisions decisions
