Don’t be fooled by the name; this new V12 Vantage might be dubbed ‘GT3’, but it’s no race car. Yep, this aero-festooned beast - which was seen undergoing testing recently - is something you can bimble down to the shops in. But it’d be a bit of a waste using this ‘race-inspired’ brute to shunt yourself to Asda and back, as it should be a bit of a weapon, whether you’re on the road or a track.

The 6.0-litre V12 - good for 565bhp in the V12 Vantage S - now belts out 592bhp. Around 150kg has been shed, too, so the GT3 tips the scales at a more reasonable 1565kg.

The flared arches of the carbonfibre body cover a wider track at the front and rear. The 19-inch forged alloy wheels are wrapped in sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport boots, and there’s a revised set of posh three-stage adaptive dampers. The whole suspension system has been revamped with a ‘track focused geometry’.

Like wings? You’re well served here. The GT3 features a massive carbonfibre rear wing as part of an aero package which also includes a carbonfibre front splitter and rear diffuser.

Want one? Tough; all 100 are sold out, despite each GT3 costing a rather substantial £250,000. However, if just gorping at it in the metal is enough to satisfy, you can check it out at the Geneva motor show from 3 March.
