Here's The Aftermath Of A Sickening Megane RS Crash At The 'Ring
This horrifying wreck at the Nurburgring left both the driver and passenger in hospital
This massive wreck happened on Thursday at the Kurvenpassage section of the Nordschleife. Speaking to Car Throttle, eyewitness and CT friend Steve Warson who was two cars behind the Renaultsport Megane told us that the crash was an overreaction from the driver after spotting an animal on the track.
He backed off, causing lift-off oversteer followed by a spin and a roll. The driver needed an operation on an injured hand, while the passenger suffered a concussion.
Not a bad outcome considering the severity of the crash, but a lot of that is down to safety gear. “The car had six-point harnesses, bucket seats and a cage. Without these things the outcome would have been very different,” Steve told us.

The Recovery guy has done that job more than once!
Why are so many hard crashes on the Ring in Meganes??
It’s vtec engine swap
So.he’s actually says “VTEC KICKED IN YO”
Renauld save lifes!
I am starting to wonder if the megane has some major security issue. It is equipped with all the modern saftey gear however I find it strange that every megane crash at the ring results in a massive rollover, that cannot be normal
its because there are so many megane on the track… and every megane owner thinks his a prof. racer
Bad things tend to happen when a FWD car oversteers….the lift off oversteer is probably more aggressive in a car with almost 70% of the weight in the front
I’m sorry for the car men, hope you’re cool. How much for the wheels?
Has anyone noticed recently that a lot of Renault Megans have crashed ant the ring?
But if you look at the video and pictures or the car there are no signs of a cage or seats or harnesses just stock yellow seat belts stock seats and what looks like a full interior
Yesh
tl;dr: Colin MacRae: When in doubt, flat out.
