Here's A Mesmerising Timelapse Of A Life-Sized Lego McLaren 720S Being Built
It took 2000 man hours and 280,000 Lego bricks to make this full-size 720S replica
Perhaps the most interesting thing about this giant model - first revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed - is how much of it is actually Lego. There’s a basic metal platform, a bit of framework for the wheels (which are real McLaren 720S rims) to be bolted to, and that’s it.
280,000 Lego bricks were used to make the thing, and the completed car weighs 1451kg - just over 30kg more than the kerb weight for the real 720S.
If this huge 1:1 scale model is ever sold, it’ll no doubt be rather expensive. And a little impractical. Fortunately, Lego will sell you a much smaller Speed Champions 720S for a pithy £12.99.

I find it amazing that the lego version weighs more then the real life car, thats insane
imagine getting rear ended, like how would insurance deal with that?
you’d have to rebuild it…
get a tesla chassis then mount it on the lego body and you can call it a “RC car”
I wish they build the rims out of bricks too
