Here's The New 700bhp+ Shelby Mustang GT500 Making All The Right Noises
The GT350's big brother - rumoured to churn out more than 700bhp - has been caught on video undergoing testing in Dearborn
While that rumbly soundtrack is quite clearly one belonging to a V8, we can’t tell whether or not the engine is running any kind of forced induction. It does seem on the cards though, as Ford will struggle to match the likes of the 650bhp Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and 697bhp Dodge Challenger Hellcat simply using a highly-modified version of the GT350’s 5.2-litre flat-plane V8.
In fact, it’s even rumoured that the next GT500 could produce as much as 800bhp. Still want a Hellcat?

I hope this finally kills those ridiculous GT500 Twin Turbo V6 rumours that have been floating around. I want my ‘Murica V8 powered and turbo free!
That Blinkers…
Quick (and possibly very dumb) question: why is it called the GT500 still?
500 is an arbitrary number they just needed a number higher than 350. Shelby’s race shop was 350 steps away from their production shop.
This is different from the other prototype… Different front fascia, different wing, and different wheels… This looks more like a “Mach 1” or maybe a “GT350 RS” to me…
It looks like a GT350R to me
I can see the police using this car as a crowd control thing
Oh God Please let them bring back a glory 427 Big Block, pleaseee!!!!!! 7L Displacement plus forced induction.
After reading some. Comments im glad i live in america because for $40,000 u can get a mustang witg 700hp with a full factory warrenty still. But theres a catch u have to go to a dealer in ohio and idk how long itll be for sale that cheap
yes, i do still want a hellcat. thanks for asking
Not sure if this is relevant, but Vaughn Gittin Jr. said something about a mustang RTR with 725 hp. I might just be stupid but it looks similar.
As Ford said Voodoo 5.2 was special for GT350 and they not gonna use it in other vehicles. Engine will not be for sale as well.
