The Honda Jazz Dynamic Is An Adorable New Kinda/Sorta Warm Hatch

The Honda Jazz is a car that’s rather difficult to get excited by. It has a more mature image than most of its rivals, and generally isn’t something that’s cropped up on our radar. Until now, that is, as there’s a new ‘Dynamic’ version that’s arrive as part of a mid-life update for the range.

Before you get too excited though, we should point out that this isn’t the sort of thing that’s going to give the super-light new Suzuki Swift Sport a run for its money: Honda has fitted a 128bhp, 1.5-litre inline-four… and that’s about it, really.

The suspension remains unchanged, although the outside has been given a makeover. There’s a new front splitter, a triple-strake diffuser, “sporty red accent” lines for the front and rear, LED headlights, front fog lights, side skirts, a cute little boot spoiler and gloss-black 16-inch alloy wheels.

The interior has been spruced up too, with a new pinstripe pattern for the upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearknob, plus a load of orange stitching.

Bearing in mind the kerb weight of the 101bhp, 1.3-litre Jazz and its leisurely 11.2sec 0-62mph time, the Dynamic should dip below the 10 second barrier quite comfortably. So it’s a lukewarm hatch rather than a scorching hot one, but we reckon it might end up being an entertaining little thing.

The Dynamic will be available to order along with the rest of the updated range from November, with first deliveries taking place in early 2018.
