The New Nissan Juke Looks Surprisingly Normal
The Nissan Juke’s odd, some might say ugly looks didn’t put off the million-ish people who bought one. But it’s now old, and to stay popular, it desperately needs a replacement. Which Nissan has duly made.
The new Nissan Juke was first teased a few weeks ago, but now it’s been revealed sans camo. It’s a little easier on the eye than the car it replaces, don’t you think?
No longer do we have those weird DRL/indicator lamps stretching up and over the bonnet. Plus, with Nissan’s big V-Motion grille stuffed in the middle, the familial link to the more conventional Qashqai is clear. It still has the unusual low-mounted headlamps though, plus a ‘pinched’ look at the rear similar to the old one.
The only engine choice at launch will be a 1.0-litre, 115bhp inline-three borrowed from the Micra, hooked up to either a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The line-up will eventually expand, and it’s expected this will include a circa-200bhp option in a new Juke Nismo.
It’s longer and wider than the outgoing car, yet has shed 23kg. People sitting in the back get more leg and headroom, while boot space has jumped by 20 per cent to 422 litres. The cabin is posher than before too, sporting new soft-touch materials and - optionally - Alcantara or leather trim. Lovely.
Nissan’s ProPilot driving assistance system is available on the car, as will the eight-inch display-based NissanConnect infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. If you fancy upgrading the sound system, an eight-speaker Bose option will be on the configurator too.
The new Nissan Juke is available to order now, with the range starting at £17,395 for the entry-level manual Visia, rising to £25,395 for a Premiere Edition with a DCT ‘box.

mistubishi outlander sport is so outdated anymore
nothing wrong with a honda hrv or a toyota chr (actually the chr has no awd which is kinda pointless)
I already liked the NIssan Juke, hell I owned one in black for a year as a company car when I worked for Nissan, but this one? I like it even more. It’s still unmistakeably a Juke but it’s nowhere near as weird.
I like it. Solid candidate.
My uncle worked for a pharmaceutical company and they gave him a Juke Nismo as a company car. Manual and everything
