A Reckless Lexus Driver Who Crashed And Crushed A Man Is Everything That’s Wrong With Car Meets
Anyone who has attended a car meet at the Ace Cafe in London knows that a serious accident was just waiting to happen, and it appears that last night was the night the inevitable occured. Reports are fairly sketchy, but it appears a young man was showing off in his Lexus IS 200, drifting the mini roundabout beside the cafe, when he lost control.
One witness on Passion Ford claimed the Lexus driver kicked the back out but “overcompensated”, crashing into a parked Toyota Auris. The hatchback was pushed forward, hitting two men who were working on a Ford Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth. According to reports, one man was pinned between the two cars, with bystanders freeing him before paramedics arrived. His injuries are unclear at this point.
It was only a matter of time before something like this happened, and unfortunately for the Ace Cafe and everyone who enjoys attending meets there, this could be the final nail in the cafe’s coffin. It has been hit by police warnings before, with cops threatening to close the business if it didn’t take steps to reign in anti-social behaviour in the vicinity of its property - this is possible thanks to new powers granted to police in 2014.
The roads surrounding the cafe are often lined with people after meets, and drivers take this as an opportunity to show off. Understandably, police don’t take too kindly to such behaviour on the public road, especially with so many people around. As resistant as some petrolheads have been to cops’ attempts to interfere with their ‘fun’, it’s exactly the sort of incident witnessed last night that they’ve been trying to avoid.
Unfortunately, as usual, it’s the minority ruining it for the majority. If the Ace Cafe is shut down, we only have the idiots in our community to blame.

I was gonna made a joke about lexus, but now i fell bad
Even for static only meets there is always someone trying to prove something. Last one I went to, people were racing around the motorway service car park where the lorry drivers were sleeping. If only that minority didnt ruin it for the vast decent majority.
Blackpanthaa?
Who’s that?
Was gonna say the same thing!!! Ha HA HA
2 hours too late hahaha
you beat me to it m8
I wanted to ask that too! However I’m 99% sure that it wasn’t him. First of all. He said in one of his newer videos when he showed us his Lexus IS200 he said I’m not going to try to slide this car. Soo I think he didn’t do it. :)
BlackPanthaa lol
Blackpantaa?
Thanks for being THAT GUY
This is why I don’t go to car meets outside of specialised ones focussing on a single brand or a single model, OR an organised event - there’s either security or no one feels the need to show off because everyone has the same model/brand. Free-for-alls like this are cool when you can see so many interesting builds on offer but 99% of the time they do turn into a mess, the other 1% is what has happened here - injury or even death in very rare circumstances.
Maybe there should be a new unwritten rule of the car world: Thinking of showing off stupidly on public land? Banned.
If this was last night it was a fords only meet :)
The Pistonheads meet at Le Mans has been my favourite the last few years.
Meets at the Ace Cafe are rarely “free for alls”. They’re pre-arranged and they can be quite strict on who they actually let onto their own land… but the problem is there is nothing they can do about people just parking up outside on the public roads. I tend not to go up there unless I know I can get into the car park as that’s the only place I feel my car is safe.
That’s not a new unwritten rule. It’s an unwritten rule that has been there for a long time, but you still get the idiots who don’t follow this that ruin it for everyone.
At a recent car meet in aus there was one guy hooning through the parking lot nearly hitting multiple people and cars and pretty sure he was banned reported to police and also they post shamed him and his car on the page and everyone spammed him with messages
Blackpanthaa!
Everyone is now thinking about Blackpanthaa. That pleb.
Theooooo!
