This Red Bull/Porsche F1 Livery Concept Is Absolutely Stunning
Porsche has decided that it will pull out of the FIA World Endurance Championship’s super high-tech LMP1 class, in favour of Formula E, but that naturally started a few rumours about the manufacturer entering F1.
That seems to happen every time a major brand makes a significant decision on its motorsport programme, although Porsche has decided to go into Formula E for season six - rather than F1.
But that can’t stop us from dreaming about an F1 future with Porsche in it, and what brilliant livery designs it could produce as a result. Graphic design genius Sean Bull has done just that, penning a Red Bull/Porsche concept.
Sure, it seems very unlikely, especially with Red Bull’s commercial links with Aston Martin. But, the concept livery is damn incredible and we’d love to see it in F1 at some stage in the future. Seeing two of these cars sweeping through the racing calendar’s best curves would be a massive draw.
The current Red Bull livery is pretty cool, with a matte finish and plenty of colour. But we’re a little bored of it. A change would be refreshing and combining Red Bull’s logo and styling with Porsche colours makes for one hell of a striking-looking F1 car.
It looks deep and mysterious on the current F1 chassis, and the 2018-spec halo cockpit protection device isn’t as noticeable – Sean’s used this design to showcase what an F1 car could look like with it fitted.
Even with the halo on board, we think a Red Bull/Porsche livery looks pretty cool, and much more dramatic than some of the current colour schemes on the grid.
So, come on Red Bull and Porsche, get it sorted!
