Say Hello (And Goodbye) To The Last Ever Hennessey Venom GT
After six years in (very) limited production, the Hennessey Venom GT is no more. The 12th car - one of six roadster versions - has been built and sold for $1.2 million to an unnamed buyer.
While its critics are keen to point out its (massively modified) Lotus base, the Venom lives up to its promise of being massively, maddeningly fast. The last cars - including this special ‘glacier blue’ Final Edition - put out 1451bhp via a twin-turbo V8, making 0-60mph possible in 2.4 seconds.
While the car’s 270.4mph top speed recorded at the Kennedy Space Center in 2014 was never a ‘proper’ Guinness world record, it remains a massively impressive feat. The GT did bag an ‘official’ record too, becoming the fastest car to go from 0-300kmh, which it did in just 13.61 seconds.
So long Venom GT, it’s been fun watching you do cool stuff.

Funny thing is that there were two other engine you could get
Honestly these could have been amazing if they had priced them according to the sum of their parts. There is not a chance in hell more than us$300k of ‘stuff’ goes into throwing one of these together. The us$1m price tag was a pipe dream.
