Honda F20C for NA engines
As a fan of fast Fords, for Turbocharged engines I’m leaning towards the YB Cosworth… but the much missed Mitsubishi 4G63 has to be the winner.

Lesson is: don’t mess with the Japanese when it comes to 4-pots

B16b from the ek9 type R with is massive 189bhp from a n/a 1.6l even by today standart most 1.6 turbo manage less power

Well it’s a bit on the newer side but VW’s EA888 2.0 TSI four cylinder is an engineering marvel and the best example of it’s thumping performance is the VW Golf R.
