1.9 TDI AFN
Vauxhalls c20xe / Let engine
Saab B234R, very strong motor, stock internals are good for 500hp
Current favourite is the Duratec line from Ford. Specifically the 2.0 and 2.3. Bulletproof, high revving (8K), torquey, and very easily modded. Did I say bulletproof? ‘Cause bulletproof.
Mate, this is a Mazda L-series engine
TFSI pretty much reliable if taken care correctly, if modified it can go 400➕ hp see the leon cupra lambo killer
VW EA-888
Honda K20A. Impressive figures from stock and responds to mods better than the F20C
S14, 4AGE, 4G63.
I opt for the 4age 20v blacktop. Its inside the 20 year mark as the last 4age engine made, and its almost indestructible. I can squeeze 10000 rpms from that thing.
Not necessarily in the last 20 years, but in no particular order
BMW e30 m3 Merc Cosworth Ford Cosworth Vauxhall/Opel red top Honda S2000 Subaru flat 4 Toyota 4age or something like that Merc a45
