Top Gear's Reasonably Priced Car Sold For A Very Unreasonable Price
The eBay auction for Top Gear's final 'reasonably priced car' ended a few days ago at a price that nobody would pay had this been a 'normal' Vauxhall Astra...
If you look in the UK classifieds right now, you’ll find a low-mileage, 2013 Vauxhall Astra 1.6-litre petrol for around £7500. It will be boring and it will be ugly.
Nevertheless, Top Gear’s heavily-abused, non-airbagged Astra with a roll cage sold recently on eBay for £17,800 after 67 fanboy bidders battled it out.
The new owner can rest assured that his or her new purchase is one of the world’s most watched vehicles, having been driven on the show by big names like Aaron Paul, Hugh Jackman, Will Smith, Kiefer Sutherland and Ed Sheeran.
As for me, I’d have kept the money and spent it on something that wouldn’t bore me to death. Like 15 MX-5s or one E92 M3, for example…

Wait, who’s Kiefer Sutherland?

Not so reasonably priced now is it.
So it’s not reasonably priced at all then is it? :P
17800 pounds for a Vauxhall? No thanks; I’d rather buy a Fiesta ST instead.
500 quid more than when it was new?
