Try Not To Cry As Pink Floyd Drummer Nick Mason Crashes His McLaren F1 GTR At Goodwood
Brace yourself for this one. Nick Mason, the famous car enthusiast and drummer for Pink Floyd, has crashed his McLaren F1 GTR while driving it at Goodwood.
He was part of a demonstration ‘race’ of stunning old GT cars at last weekend’s 75th Goodwood Members’ Meeting, including a Ferrari F40 and Porsche Carrera GT, when he apparently lost control at the first part of the St Mary’s complex, hitting the tyre wall.
The 73-year-old music legend was thankfully unhurt, but the automotive legend sadly wasn’t, as you can see from these pictures. The main broadcast didn’t catch the whole incident on tape and it all unfolds quite suddenly. Jumping to the action just as the impact occurs is the sort of thing that could give a car guy an aneurysm.
On a car this valuable we’re positive that the damage is repairable. Rowan Atkinson’s F1 suffered a worse fate and that was fixable. That doesn’t stop us wanting to cry a bit, though. Or a lot. If anyone needs us we’ll be in the men’s room, erm, because we think we have something in our eyes…

Hey You, High Hopes he did not hit Another Brick In The Wall.
The hardest part was watching an F40 for most of a video titled McLaren F1 GTR…
Listen to the last PF album … that is where he lost the (click) track already.
When I get my hands on you…
This makes me sad
The Delicate Sound of Thunder… And, then, The Wall
Me. Cry. No. Thats just something in my eyes.
