The ‘Urban Assault’ Street Hoon Buggy Driver Is Being Taken To Court On 26 Different Charges

Remember that guy who terrorised the streets of San Diego in an LS-powered buggy? Unsurprisingly, it seems the authorities took a dim view of his actions...

Back in January, a video of an LS-powered buggy driver’s massively illegal street hoon landed, breaking the Internet to such an extent that both of Kim Kardashian’s buttocks were immeasurably jealous. Many claimed the ‘Urban Assault’ video - now on 1.1 million views - was staged, a thought soon quashed when it turned out the police were investigating the driver’s antics. Now it’s been revealed that the pilot - Blake Wilkey - is being taken to court, for no less than 26 misdemeanor accounts.

Wilkey posted an image of the charge list on his Instagram account, revealing nine counts of conspiring to commit a crime, nine counts of reckless driving, and eight counts of engaging in a “motor vehicle exhibition of speed”. He seems fairly relaxed about his court appearance on Monday 14 March, but we should imagine the consequences for all those charges will be quite severe…

Then you gotta worry about the idiots who move in close to a race track or an airport that’s been there for decades and complain about the noise.

Why would you want that monster crushed? Would be epic in the dunes or on private land.

Already sold for millions and he can pay off the fines with the YouTube money because he made somewhat in the 100,000 range and he is a badass that knows how to drive other than the people on here that don’t even have a liscense

It’s a stupid money grab for the police department. I read somewhere from the CHP (California Highway Patrol) that video evidence could only be used if the party that actually filmed it brought it forward to police, and I doubt that happened here.

With all of the people that helped him film it, some of whom are visible in the videos.

Are you serious? This is why petrolheads get a bad rap. No regard for law or human safety. Screw this guy and I hope he actually gets taken to prison.

Shout out to Ken Block and others who cooperate with law enforcement to make a good video we know was shot legally.

I wouldn’t charge only him. The video is sponsored by some brands,as you can see on the beginning (and at the end). They should also be charged for sponsoring an illegal event.

They sponsored the car and the shop, there would need to be evidence that they sponsored him knowing that he was going to do an illegal run.
