Watch A Classic McLaren M23 Get Dropped From A Crane In Monaco

The Monaco Historic took place last weekend, and featured this rather unfortunate incident, where a classic McLaren M23 F1 car was dropped from around 30 feet in the air while being recovered by a crane

The incident took place during a safety car period, but rather astonishingly the race was restarted while the second recovery operation (after the McLaren was dropped) took place. Fortunately the drivers slowed in time but it caused a bit of chaos behind!

Holy crap! That poor McLaren! How many million dollars (or pounds) will it take to repair? Hopefully, this thing gets out on the road soon!

From what I heard (I live there), it’s the roll bar on the car that failed so technically not the fault of the marshalls. But the green flag shouldn’t have been deployed. It was a chaotic race with something like 10 damaged car in the end. The drivers were totally out of their mind on that one ^^ If you want to find the replay, it was the last race of the day, started at 16h25 GMT+1 and called the G Series.

Monaco marshal here : the roll bar on the McLaren failed. But the race never should go green with that.

Same here, and I bet you anything there’s someone saying “its just a car”.
Hate it when non Petrolheads say that.
