Watch This GP2 Driver Suffer A Puncture At The Worst Possible Place

We're sure this young driver needed a fresh set of underwear after bursting a tyre at Eau Rouge...

Eau Rouge; a formidable corner and challenge even for the best of drivers. It's certainly not a racing supremo's place of choice to suffer a high-speed puncture, but that's exactly what happened during a GP2 race last weekend.

GP2 is a junior series that sits directly under Formula 1. It's the crucial final rung of the single-seater ladder before reaching the sport's pinnacle and so as you can imagine, the cars are incredibly fast. Eau Rouge is typically a flat-out corner at the wheel of the Dallara GP2/11 - a car powered by a 602bhp Renault V8 engine with a top speed of over 200mph.

Whilst the GP2 series has seen its fair share of large accidents, this one comes close to being in our Top 10. During Saturday's feature race, supporting the Belgian Grand Prix, Dutch driver Daniel de Jong suffered a puncture at Eau Rouge after making contact with another car. He spun into the barrier front wing-first and at a dangerously high speed. We're quite sure he needed a change of underwear after...

Fortunately Daniel walked away from the crash unharmed, showcasing the immense safety of his latest generation GP2 car. However, he will certainly be more careful about cutting across one of his rivals in the future.
