This Is What Happens When Your Fuel Tank Escapes At 100mph On The Nurburgring
Daniel Silvester's Nurburgring lap in a Honda Integra came to an abrupt end when his fuel tank fell off at 100mph, locking up the rear wheels in the process
Speaking about the accident on Facebook, Silverster had this to say:
Even I found this hard to make, especially when you can start to hear the fuel tank straps deteriorate and crash into the floor. Also on the vlog, what we got up to before the crash, and how we got the car back after. If you just want to see the crash, skip to about 7 minutes in…
In the video, Silvester theorises that either the brake lines were tugged as the tank escaped, or the tank went under a wheel causing the lock-up. Here’s hoping he can get the car fixed up and back on track soon.

Are Hondas made of paper? What the hell?
Warning! Danger to manifold!
Hey guys. Just picked the car back up now and are on the way back to England… What a freak accident. I’m just thankful it wasn’t too bad on the track and the car, it could have been so much worse. They say a hard Nurburgring lap is equivalent to 1000 miles on the road, the car has done around 70 now. I’m very strict with my maintenance too so this was a shock. Never leave anything to chance!
Especially as I watched your pre ring bolt check video. Straps must have just been unexpectedly tired and gave up the ghost. Could have definitely been 10 times worse.
