This Is What Happens When Your Fuel Tank Escapes At 100mph On The Nurburgring
Daniel Silvester's Nurburgring lap in a Honda Integra came to an abrupt end when his fuel tank fell off at 100mph, locking up the rear wheels in the process
Speaking about the accident on Facebook, Silverster had this to say:
Even I found this hard to make, especially when you can start to hear the fuel tank straps deteriorate and crash into the floor. Also on the vlog, what we got up to before the crash, and how we got the car back after. If you just want to see the crash, skip to about 7 minutes in…
In the video, Silvester theorises that either the brake lines were tugged as the tank escaped, or the tank went under a wheel causing the lock-up. Here’s hoping he can get the car fixed up and back on track soon.

This is normal isn’t it? I drive a Fiat. ;)
lol ofcurse you pay 30 euros for a rope if you buy it at the gas station :p :p
The way they used it, they could’ve just bought some (strong) rope at the hardware-store.
It didn’t need a tow-rope to wrap around the bumper.
He was using a Takata product, he is lucky to be alive.
This is why we use onboard fuel cells when making race cars…
To infinity and beyond !
his quick reaction was awesome
So this is a Texit then ?
that’s what you get for using less bolts than needed for “weight reduction bro!”
