This is a tough one, but I would say that I like the ae86 more.

Neither, actually. I love the WM series, I love the Devil Z, but strangely the car I want most is this. The Koenig Specials widebodied Testa with that sexy popup headlight delete. Remember, this is a car tuned by the “tuner from hell”, father of all the fastest cars on the wangan. That testarossa can BEAT the fairlady and Blackbird along with it, it was built for that purpose, and being a Kitami creation - i have no doubt that it can, it only needs a driver who can tame it.
Also I don’t recall the name of the kid, but the one who took a 280zx, overboosted it and scared Blackbird into not racing, THAT is the real hero. He pushed it way beyond the limits of his car and probably his abilities, he put it all on the line to reach that height, he reached so high that from over there he even looked down on the Blackbird and said “That can’t be him, that one is a pretender. Real blackbird would’ve had me by now”. None of the other characters live for speed as much as he does.
Yeah but Kitami said that the Z is his most prized work, there’s more to a car than power.

im sorry but l28 twin turbo z is better in real life
Well, car-wise, Devil Z, it’s a possessed, 650+ hp, twin turbo l28 monster, of course l28s can never reach 600 hp, which is why I love Akio’s Z. The whole point of the ae86 in Initial D was that it was an underdog. I bought an ae86 because it’s an inspiring car, the engine sound, the retro styling, the end of an era feel (last RWD corolla) just got to me. But if these cars existed, Devil Z all the way
This is misinformation, there are L28s that made 900 + horsepower in Japan back in the late 80s and 90s. This guy has an 800 + horsepower S30 Fairlady Z running Mid 8 second quarter miles. JDDA drag event.

i’m a huge fan of both but i’d have to say neither. I’d take the remodeled Race wing style 911 “Blackbird” over both of them in a heartbeat. I’m a sucker for those old rear engined 911s, can’t beat the charm of a car that’s evidently trying to kill you at every corner
