Cheap and Easy Cosmetic Mods for your first #RealCar !

As men,as petrolheads,we always want our cars to look better, fresher, more personal.
That is the reason why made this list of mods that I’d like to do to my first car,and I’m sure you’ll want at least one from the list!

#1 Stickerbomb

The first cosmetic enhancement on my list is JDM as f’ck. :D

It’s well known among petrolheads and it looks very nice on Japanese and European cars.

You can buy the stickerbomb foil or simply go full DIY and use some old comics/Mangas and some spray glue, then seal with clear coat.

This can be performed on different parts of a car:

On the bumper

On the bonnet

Or more-less everywhere on the car (wing, panel, mirror, enterior…)

AND IF A BOMB OF STICKERS IS TOO MUCH,YOU CAN ALSO USE SINGLE STICKERS
Such as:

Flammable. Especially if you drive a beater and it's gas is leaking.

This would also be maad to see.

Or go with the ones made by your favorite YouTubers (CT, Chris Fix, MCM, ILTMS…)

Another option are decals, which can be purchased online.

#2 A Stitch

Also known as “Drifter’s Stich”, this cosmetic mod can be used practically.
Logically,for fixing cracked bumpers.

The only thing you need is a bag of good ol’ zip-ties and a drill.
I have to say that this is a mod that I’ve been
taught by the Great Chriss Fix. :D

Here’s a link to his video:

#3 Painting your Bonnet Matte Black

This one might cause a little fuss.
Some of you probobly consider it rice.
And it isn’t ALWAYS a good looking option.
But,if chosen and done right,it can make your car look badass. Just like Mr. Bean’s Mini.

All in all,you can maybe paint just a stripe-two.

You can use foil, or if you’re cheaper than Mr. Krabs, you can use some old spray cans.

I know who wore it the best hehehe

#4 Flag Themed Roof Paintjob

I feel like Mini is the best car for this mod.
And I also know who’s gonna like this the most, hehe.
Answer von Answereer, Mark Mason.

This one might get just a bit more expensive (if you’re painting the British or American flag),as they look the best wrapped.
The rest (German,Serbian,Italian etc.) can be done with spray cans with no problem.

Also,the checkered roof looks awesome

#5 Yellow and/or Crossed headlights

This one might be illegal in some countries/states,but it definitelly looks mean.

It’s as simple as putting yellow tint foil over your headlights.
Actually, your car’s headlights. (Humans don’t have lights xD)

Or maybe crossing them with tape.

**Apocalypse not included

#6 Plastidiping your emblem

Not much to say about this one, except that it’s going to make your grille look badass.

Besides plastidiping, you can also use regular spray paint.

Retro badassary.

#7 Refreshing your hubcap-less rims

Another one by ChrisFix.
He’s gonna have to pay me for advertising him huehue.

Again,not much to say.
You can go crazy with paintjobs, plastidips or even stickerbombing.

This can be performed on any rims, but my first car is most likely going to be a beater,so hubcap-less-ness is an option.

#8 Making it comfty

Throwing in a blanket and some pillows to the back seats for maximum comfort!

Can also be useful in cold winter days.
My grandfather’s Renault (The one I reviewed earlier) had a blanket in the back.
Definitely a good detail.

#9 Keychain

You can buy it,or you can make it yourself out of a diecast.
It’s up to you.
The thing that matters is that it’ll improve your key’s looks.

BONUS: #10 Turning it into furniture

Onve your car finishes it’s service as…well,a car,it can be recycled into something nice, yet useful.
Like a TV stand,a sofa,a table…
The list is endless.

So,guys,there you have it.
Let me know in the comments what your favorite mod is and if you have anything else to add.
Cheers!

I’d like the single sticker on some part of my car. Just need to find something that’s funny and fits the car. Originality wouldn’t hurt either but it’s not a must.
Also #7 is something that I’d do to my winter rims, maybe next summer when they are not in the car.
And the keychain one is obvious. There’s no reason not to personalize your keychain. I’d love to have a Toyota-logo keychain, but the problem is that for some reason I haven’t found any for sale. Maybe people have bought them all lol.

Anyways nice post. Nice to read about some actual entry-level mods. Coil-overs, rims and resprays aren’t exactly cheap :D

I’m a big fan of the yellow/crossed headlights and the painted flag roof, but I definitely think that sticker bombing, plastidipping or painting panels matte is a sure way to make your car look cheaper than it is. Instead, I’d recommend neochrome headlight tint, tow bars or hooks and tyre lettering. Tyre lettering is a very cheap mod but it’ll really make your car stand out

Good points!

Tow hooks and tyre lettering is indeed something cheap that looks good.

Don’t forget the added benefit of reduced glare for the black bonnet. A really good material for that is spray-on truck bed liner.

All of these things will happen to whatever project car I get. ALL OF THEM. the stickerbomb also looks good on roof racks. (Something I may get for Wallace on my birthday. Maybe.)
