NSW Highway Patrol GT-F - 2014

The NSW Highway Patrol acquired one of these last ever FPV GT sedans (build number 88 out of 500). which, as a unique special, had the engine tuned by Ford racing legend D!ck Johnson to 600 kilowatts (800 horsepower). This gave it far more power than Australian racing V8 Supercar and it is, as of 2015, Australia’s most powerful police vehicle. It was commissioned by the NSW police force as a promotional car, although it is a fully equipped and operational highway patrol police vehicle.

FPV GT Black Edition

The FPV GT BLACK was available in one colour only. With all black finished styling, black alloy wheels, black tail pipes and all-new matt black striping decals.
The limited edition GT BLACK was powered by the all-aluminium BOSS 335 5.0-litre supercharged engine with a maximum power output of 335kW at 5750rpm, combined with maximum torque of 570Nm delivered across a broad 2200-5500 rpm range. There were only 125 units made, making it the most limited edition FPV ever released.

Special edition - GT RSPEC Limited Edition

The GT RSPEC contains higher spring rates, re-tuned dampers, larger anti-roll bar, and reinforced rear lower control arms, while the front suspension has stiffer upper control arm bushes, stiffer front upper suspension strut mounts, and re-tuned dampers.
Limited to a run of just 350 units, the GT RSPEC is available in four colour combinations, 175 of those committed to the ‘hero’ colour scheme of Silhouette (black) with Vixen (red) accents. The remaining 175 units will be made up of Winter White, Vixen (red) and Kinetic (blue) with Silhouette (black) accents.
The new GT RSPEC is unchanged, powered by FPV’s much vaunted all-aluminium ‘Miami’ BOSS 335 5.0-litre supercharged engine.

Special edition- GT-F

The Limited Edition GT F lies FPV’s best engine ever – a supercharged 5.0 litre V8 capable of delivering an awesome 351kW of power and 570Nm of torque . To ensure total performance, automatic launch control, the R SPEC suspension package, Brembo 6-piston brakes on the front and 4-piston brakes on the rear, plus 19 inch x 9 inch rear wheels are all standard. With only 500* built for the Australian market and 50 for the New Zealand market these are super collectible.

Boss 290

Based on the cast iron 4V DOHC Boss short blocks sourced from Windsor, Ontario, the Boss engines include some locally sourced parts such as intake and pistons coupled with DOHC 4-valve cylinder heads from the Mustang Cobra R engine. FPV named this uniquely tuned engine as the Boss 290 because of its power output. It produced 290 kW (394 PS; 389 bhp) at 5500 rpm and 520 N·m (380 lb·ft) of torque at 4500 rpm.

Boss 302

For the BFII FPV GT Cobra special edition, the Boss 302 was created. The GT Cobra motor produced 405 hp (302 kW) and 398 lb·ft (540 N·m)). The Boss 302 motor was also added to all V8-powered FPV models until the release of the FG in 2008

Boss 315

For the FG MkI, the 5.4 was further tuned to produce 315 kW (428 PS; 422 bhp) and 551 N·m (406 lb·ft). FPV achieved this through a new camshaft profile, new camshaft timing, strengthened piston assembly and a higher compression ratio (10.5:1 to 10.8:

5.0L Coyote "Miami" V8

In October 2010 FPV retired the 5.4L Boss V8, in favour of a new supercharged 5.0L V8. The project, codenamed “Miami”, is based on the Coyote 5.0 litre V8 and is a supercharged alloy quad cam engine. It has cost FPV $40 million and has taken 3 years to develop. The engine was offered in three versions, Boss 315, 335 and finally 351.
With the closure of FPV, the Boss 335 engine was used in the returning XR8 model with the FG-X range. Another variation was developed for the special edition XR8 sprint, that developed 345kw.

The Miami V8 was a 5.0-litre supercharged petrol engine that was first offered by Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) in October 2010 with 335 kW and 315 kW.
introduced in the Ford Mustang in late 2010, the Miami V8 was developed by Prodrive in a $36 million program that ran simultaneously with the development of the Coyote V8 from 2007 to 2010. For the Miami V8, all components for supercharging – such as the supercharger, crankshaft damper, accessory drive, sump, exhaust manifold and intake manifold – were locally sourced and the Miami V8 was assembled by hand at FPV’s plant in Broadmeadows, Victoria; annual production capability for the Campellfield facility was around 1500 engines.

Key features of the Miami V8 included: An aluminium alloy block and cylinder head;
Double overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder;
Variable intake camshaft timing;
HVT 1900 supercharger;
9.25:1 compression ratio; and,
6250 rpm rev limit.
As a result of its aluminium alloy construction,
The Miami V8 engine was 47 kg lighter than its Boss 315 predecessor.

FPV FG F6

The F6 is based on the modern-classic Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo sports sedan. The F6 engine is based on XR6T motor, a turbocharged intercooled DOHC 4.0L Inline Six with VCT, but includes: a modified FPV airbox (with Dual Ram Air intakes), higher strength conrods, larger air-to-air intercooler, high flow exhaust system, higher capacity fuel pump, and a Garrett GT3582r (same as the BA/BF XR6T) turbocharger with an internal waste gate (up from the GT3576r on the FG XR6T)running 0.64 bar of boost on the BA/BF models and 0.91 on the FG. This engine is known for its wide, flat torque curve, with peak torque of 565 N·m (417 lb·ft) available from 1950 to 5250 rpm(FG F6). This equates to strong acceleration throughout the rev range.
