DIY Cold Air Intake

This is the cold air intake I made myself for around 25$.
It took me around 4 hours of measuring, cuting, measuring, again cuting and more measuring than spray painting and installing it in the car.

I made the heat shield from 6mm plastic and the sealing is from sealing for tubes.
It seals very well and there is a huge difference between the temperature by the filter and by the engine.

The filter is a non Original K&N 240mm high.

You can see that I used a 60mm siliconee hose. Normally this is used for turbo engines to connect metal pipes, but in my case I used it to put the filter even furher away from the engine and closer to the headlight.

Also there is a small hole on the right of this hose. There goes the cable for the air sensor and it is attached behind the filter below the hose. It can be seen on the firs pic in the topic.

In conclusion I would say that now the car breaths better, because the stock air box intake was just a small plastic pipe going over the radiator (heat) with a diameter of around 60mm. This was all the air that the car gets.
Now it is getting the same amount of air + from the gaps between lights and bonnet + from the asphlat.

I am planning to put a plastic pipe below the filter to the fog light to supply fresh air directly into the filter.

From the Powaa side i would say that the throttle response is better and also the sound is much more agressive in mid and high revs even on hlaf the throttle. When driving normal it feels ans sound just as normal as before.

I only have an open air filter because the actuall filter wouldn’t fit.. but it can give you more power if it gets colder air, so make sure you didn’t create an small over for the air intake

The stock airbox gets air only from behind the passenger grille.
Now the shield gets air from the driver side grille + gap between lights and bonnet + frombrhind the bumper from the road. Air is much more than before for this I am 100% sure. :)
