The Mclaren 625C - Famous but Unheard Of #blogpost
NOTE If you are from Asia, you probably know already about this, for reason’s I’ll explain later.
At first glance, you’re probably thinking “You Imbecile! That’s a Mclaren 650S!”. Well, believe it or no it isn’t. Unlike, say, the 650S and the 675LT, which have subtle body changes to each other:
The 650S and 625C have almost no visual differences. None! However, those worried they are about to be murdered by a vigilante mob for calling a 625 a 650, don’t worry. There is one, easy-enough-to-tell difference between the two: the air vents. On the 650S, they stick out like pods, whereas on the 625C they are more of slashes, as if someone came along in the night and ripped the vents off.
So, you may be wondering, how come I haven’t heard of this? Is it new? No, it was announced back in late September 2014. The reason that you haven’t heard of this is because it’s Asia Exclusive!
See, the plucky British supercar manufacturer, like many other manufacturer, had seen the growth of car sales in Asia and thought “Oh yes, we’ll ‘ave a bit of that!”. The 650S is still available in Asia, and this sits under the 650S but above the 570S. It produces just 616BHP, compared to the 650S’ 641BHP and the 570S’ 562BHP.
However, while it does have a significant power difference of 25BHP, it’s still no slouch. It will jet off the line to reach 60MPH in just 3.1 seconds (compared to the 650S’ 3 seconds), and will top out at 207MPH, which is exactly the same as the 650S.
“So, if it’s so similar,” you may ask “then why sell it?” Well, this has different dampers and a changed balance to the 650S, making the car itself more of a “Comfort” car. Whereas the 650S is designed as a more, what’s the word, “Track-Ready” car, this is the more “Everyday Supercar” option. Think of it as a really nice cereal: While you might prefer the Frosties [650S], your dentist will drill into you with his special drill thingy, so you have to eat Cornflakes [625C]instead.
Sharing the visual drama of the 650S, the 625C has an increased focus on day-to-day usability and comfort. Through revisions to the groundbreaking ProActive Chassis Control and the suspension hardware, the ride quality is further enhanced to offer even greater levels of compliance and ride quality. - Mclaren
That’s about it! I just want to say thanks for reading this, it’s my first ever blogpost, and please leave some feedback while your at it! I’d love to be an Automotive Journalist when I’m older, and this is kind of my first steps into this world.

540C
570GT etc
Interesting! I’ve never heard of it.
I believe then it’s a 12c with the 650 front and back
Both have the slashes and both have 616 bhp
