Okay kiddies, we need to have a talk about "fart cans"
I’ve noticed some people (particularly in the Roast My Car section) have been saying all cars with cannon-style rear mufflers have fart cans.
I think we need to lay out the rules - the top picture is a $30 muffler probably bought on eBay and screwed onto the factory press bent exhaust, it has no performance benefits, looks cheap and it would sound like something that came out of the rear of something living more than a car - hence the name “fart can”.
The bottom picture is a proper tuned exhaust that does have performance benefits and can sound amazing on the right cars. In this case it’s a titanium Tomei cat-back that uses a canon muffler.
As someone who has an imported car with an imported exhaust I can tell you that it’s pretty damn difficult to find a Japanese aftermarket exhaust that does not use a cannon muffler on the rear. Please, don’t prematurely judge owners by the shape of their exhaust tip.

I see no difference. The only difference is the engine. I installed a 1000$ titanium exhaust ystem on a Fiat punto. It sounded just as fart canny as before. The customer returned it.

Doesn’t really look like a fart can to me, it’s clear it’s a proper exhaust made for that car. People can be a pain
Yeah it’s only a fart can if it’s sounds like a fart can. You can hear the bad quality
