1967 Holden HR Restomod Update

A lot has progressed since I initially posted my car in my CarThrottle garage, it has been through a massive amount of body work and is not far off going into paint. The car has gone through a bare metal restoration using old-school techniques.
Pictured above is a concept rendering that I created of my car, and in the below gallery is the car as it was after all of the repair work. The photos don’t do it justice as the body lines and panel gaps are awesome, far better than it was from the factory.

Pictured below is a list of the exterior cosmetic alterations that have been and will be made. I haven’t listed anything in regards to mechanical changes just yet as they keep changing.

And for those interested, or that haven’t seen it yet, below is a video that I captured of my engine on the dyno.
It’s not an overly extreme motor but it’s comparable to the Holden Torana’s that run in Group Nc racing, and with the car only weighing about 1180kg it will go pretty hard.

Also much to my surprise, the website EngineLabs in the US found out about my motor and did an article on it, check it out here: http://www.enginelabs.com/news/video-holden-red-six-nearly-doubles-hp-output-on-powerhouse-dyno/

To me, this is the best type of restomod, it keeps all the identity of the car intact, yet renovated it as you would a home. This is along the lines of what I want to do to the VB wagon that’s been in my family from new. I love it when cars are modernised in this manner

I’ve always preferred subtle mods, ones that make you ask yourself what did the builder actually change. But it is always the simple things that take time.

My entire design is set around the fact that Holden never made a sports model of the HR, so what if they did?! This is my interpretation.

It looks like there’s some sort of ceramic coating on the exhaust, which is cool. But the power figures, holy hell. I wonder what’s possible from a 202 now
