I heard the Ford GT and the Taurus SHO share an engine... or was it just certain engine parts... This is not a hate post, it's a joke, and I don't mean it.
Maybe because they think if Nissan could do it, they could do it, too.
I think it was mainly “Because race car bro!” Ford already had a 3.5 V6 racing in the TUDOR united sports car series, and wanted a race proven engine to take to Le Mans. I’m not sure of all of the details of race regulations between the various series they race in, but there’s probably a displacement limit somewhere.
if you put bigger turbos on the taurus sho then you can afford a ford that really rivals the bmw m5
Very true.
Ford has ruined it
It still looks great to me, though. The engine power seems promising. The V6 may seem confusing to some.
Honestly almost all American market Fords will have the same engine in the options. The v6 ecoboost powers everything from the flex to the f150 to the gt.
True. Since the GT is a flagship supercar, I’d thought Ford may have developed a distinctive engine for it… I guess not.
I’m not a massive fan of the new Ford GT, in my eyes, it doesn’t look anything like the original where as the 2004 model did. :)
Yeah, many people are probably wondering why Ford stuck a V6 in there, too.
