300ZX VS SC300
So for a project daily driver car (not winter), what would you tell me to get? Both have 3.0L engines, and RWD. A N/A 300ZX Z32 or a N/A man. trans. SC300? I absolutely love the sound of the 2JZ (even the -GE). For a friendly budget what’s better? (I love both Nissan and Toyota, so no preference)

Sc300 everyday
Alright, give me one good reason.
If you go Nissan the 2+2 has almost 50:50 weight from what I remember and you can put a ls in it easy and get the same 2j power or turbo the v6
That’s an option! Thanks Fabian!
The Z32 is actually 52-53:47-48, depending on the model.
SC300 all the way. Choose the V8 engine too!
300zx all day, the SC’s are cool but I’d only get a soarer because jdm life, 1jz the whole way, I had one sitting at my storage lot for a bit and they have a mean idle straight piped
SC300 FTW :D
Why?
As a Nissan guy, I’d still have to pick the SC300 if there are no turbos involved. The VG30 shines brightest with turbos, meanwhile the 2JZ is great with or without turbos and is more practical to work on.
Thank you Godzilla
As a z32 owner, 300zx all day. I spent almost a year looking for the right Z to buy and honestly wouldn’t trade it for anything. I, unfortunately, have the na and it has been very reliable. So far I’ve only had the alternator go bad but it was 25 years old and the serpentine belts chew up quick, well at least the ones from autozone, after getting genuine nissan belts I haven’t had any problems. Also, with a nice exhaust they sound really good. Only thing is you’ll have to be patient working on it as there’s limited space. Anyway, good luck whichever you decide to go with. Both are nice fun cars!
300zx all the way
380ZX
Okay…
Sc300 is a 2jz and 400 is a v8. They have
more luxury than the z and are more reliable.
I’m not interested into the 1UZ-FE available in the SC400 but I think the SC300 would be a better choice than the 300ZX.
