The remains of Henri Toivonen's Lancia S4.
To be light as possible most cars used Kevlar shells. This is why when they crashed most of it went up in flames. The legacy left behind by these cars and drivers won’t be forgotten.

Jesus… Did the drivers burn in the accident too? :0
Yup. He died in the flames.
What you see there are the only remains of the car: no more, no less. It had to be an abhorrent death.
I heard a report that Henri’s dad said they found him outside the car. So he might’ve gotten out. But the whole crash is still a mystery, so we might never know.
Oh dear
Holy sh*t that’s so brutal. Do you know if the Death was instant? I couldn’t bear to think of the pain of the crash and flames…
Thats the one thing I can’t find. He was taking flu medication and some believe that was the cause of the crash.
I do believe that they died instanly, since the fuel tanks were directly under the seats. R.I.P Henri, he had so much potential in him still. As a Finnish petrolhead, this is a sad topic for me to talk about.
I didn’t imagine that to closer :/ : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYGgwgNmJuY
That is probally the rarest video of Group B.
I thought that Toivonen died when trying to save his assistant(or whatever is that dude reading notes), might be other driver too
Kevlar or steel, when the fuel tanks burst instantly you are going to have a bad time.
The material the body is made of does not enter into it.
Exactly, besides, they did fly a good distance off the road before crashing into the cliff, so even the impact could have probably killed them. R.I.P
Completely unrecognizable from what it once was
Suomi mainittu! Torilla tvataan! R.I.P Henri toivonen 😭😭😭😭😭😭
It’s was the golden years of rallying but accidents like this make you think that it was the correct decision to stop it
The fueltank under the car was hit and then, well that are the remains of the car so you know what happened!
