The Mk4 MX-5 has already spawned an extensive list of aftermarket parts, but this carbon fibre luggage rack from Mazda has to be one of the coolest so far. Boasting stunning looks and a build that manages to be both lightweight and ultra strong, the boot rack comes with all necessary fittings and instructions, including the wiring harness needed to integrate the third brake light. It should be noted that the Mk4’s equally lightweight boot lid is made from aluminium and there is therefore a 10kg weight limit when using this boot rack. Designed for the first gen MX-5, this IL Motorsport exhaust oozes German style and build quality and runs from the cat-backwards, before splitting into a pair of 78mm rolled and polished stainless steel pipes which exit the car midway along the rear bumper. A truly stunning product which promises to deliver a suitably aggressive note, the IL Motorsport twin centre exit exhausts comes with a 5 year warranty, a kit of fixings and fittings and a fiberglass panel to fill the existing exhaust cut-out. It fits all 1.6 and 1.8 engined cars built before 1996. If your car is a 96 or 97 please measure the length of the catalyst, if it is 475mm long this will not fit.

Gaz Gold Coilovers for Mk1 and Mk2 MX-5
Gaz has established itself as one of the best manufacturers of suspension around, and MX5parts is proud to stock the firm’s highly regarded Gold coilovers for both Mk1 and Mk2 MX-5s. Boasting both height and damping adjustment, the coilovers are impressively versatile, able to lower a car by 40mm all round and even featuring a knob for fine tuning damping rates. The threaded bodies are made from high tensile HE15 alloy and are fitted with a low friction banded piston, a self-lubricating bearing in the bottom of the loop, and are specially valved front and rear to optimise performance in all conditions. There are three distinct spring poundages available, one for fast road use (350lb front/250lb rear), one suited to both track and fast road (400lb front/300lb rear) springs, and a third designed purely for track use (500lb front/300lb rear).

Audiolink for MP3 player to Mazda Modular/Bose Mk2/2.5/3
What’s better than cruising around in your MX-5 with the roof down? Cruising round with your roof down and your tunes cranked right up, that’s what. The best way to go about this via the use of MP3s, and the best way of going about this on Mk2 and early Mk3s is via this Audiolink USP MP3 integration kit. Plugging into the USB flash drive or USB external hard drive, the unit will play any stored MP3s through your car’s OEM speakers, will turn on when you start the car, and will even resume playing right where you left off. It allows you to use your steering wheel controls to change songs and it also features a 1/8” stereo jack to allow you to input other sources, such as satellite radio. This newer version also features a built in SD card slot.
Please note, these units will not work on the new Mk3.5 Facelift. A compatible version is currently in development.
