This Is Our First Look At The Production Honda Urban EV
While it may primarily be fast, rather expensive cars we’re looking forward to this year, there are some exceptions. And few of 2019’s more accessible debuts have us quite as excited as the production version of Honda’s Urban EV concept.
Affordable, stylish, electrified transport for the masses: what’s not to like? And judging by this new design sketch, the showroom-ready Urban EV - now confirmed for a Geneva Motor Show reveal in March - should stay fairly true to the concept.
Spy shots have revealed that it’ll have five doors rather than three - an understandable change given new car buyer preferences these days. The front end will be a little more rounded too, to make it more pedestrian-friendly should the worst happen.
We’re not sure what it’ll be called yet, but it sounds like the Urban EV name might not be carried over. If you want one, you won’t have to wait long: Honda has stated that it’ll go on sale “later in the year.”
By 2025, the Japanese firm is pledging to have two-thirds of its European sales featuring “electrified technology.”

Just from that front on picture it looks a lot more pudding like than the concept, which is a shame 😞
And the camouflaged pre-production prototype looks a bit like a Peugeot 205 with round headlights
In awe of the size of this lad. ABSOLUTE UNIT.
Still want one though… badly.

Hype
I hope the awkwardly swollen arches only exist in this render
Pedestrian safety rules :(
Actually looks better than I expected. The camouflaged car was making me think that it wouldn’t look at all like the concept.
Looks better than expected. Don’t care for the wheels though…
