Four reasons why people to hate the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, and why the hate makes no sense.
I’m sure most of you have heard about this remarkable beast. The world’s quickest quarter mile production car,the world’s most powerful production V8,the world’s second quickest zero-to-sixty time in a production car,the quickest production muscle car,the first production car to run drag radials stock, the first production car to successfully pop a wheelie, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. This demon in wolf’s clothing is getting a fair amount of hate on the internet. Almost more than the infamous Fiat Multipla. To come thinking about it,I actually think it gets more hate than the Multipla. But anyway,I’ve came here to share five reasons why people on the internet need to stop hating on the Demon. It’s just unneeded.
Reason one: Looks the same as the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
Hellcat.
Demon.
Yeah,I’m not gonna lie,the new Demon looks like a Hellcat. Better yet,a Hellcat with a LibertyWalk kit on it. But I don’t think FCA is going to waste time developing a brand new vehicle design on a production dragster. Hell,re-badge the Hellcat. I don’t care. It still goes fast.
Reason two: Too heavy.
Yes,it weighs 4,234 pounds. But who really gives two-sh!ts? It gets to sixty miles per hour from a stand-still in 2.3 seconds. It’s a dragster and no one is trying to run laps around the ‘Ring. This is just a lost cause. Even if it weighed a thousand pounds less,it wouldn’t make that much of a difference. Maybe 2.2 or 2.1 seconds.
Reason three: It’s a “one trick pony”.
This reason here just makes me laugh my @$$ off. When I’m talking about the Demon, someone always complains that it only good at one thing, running quarter miles. And they are correct, and that’s exactly why it was built. It wasn’t built to run ‘Ring times. It wasn’t built to be a grand tourer. It wasn’t built to go against the leaders like Porsche,Lamborghini,BMW,Audi,Mercedes-Benz,etc. It was built for one reason, and one reason only. For raw power, and straight lines. They didn’t build it for time attack geeks. If you can’t accept that, you shouldn’t be talking crap about the car.
Reason four: Crappy handling.
Like I said before, not built for GT1 and WRC sh!t. I’m surprised that people actually complain about a dragster’s handling. I can see people complaining about the Hellcat’s handling, though. The Hellcat was dreadful.
Conclusion: C’mon, guys. The great people at FCA designed and built this beast to rule the strip, not the Laguna Seca. You want an FCA track monster, get an ACR.

good post
Thanks!
My issue with it is that it runs a great quarter…. Yet It can’t be used in the track therefore making it a street car… That’s missing seats and striped down
same, add a roll cage dang it haha
Your title didn’t make sense at first
It’s the use of the word “to” that is off I think. Still a good opinion piece!
Still waiting for a dou¢he to showoff his demon and crash
It will be a breath of fresh air for us Mustang owners lol.
That cover photo rocks… so does the post :-D
I don’t “hate” it, but nowadays any decent manufacturer can just step up and do something similar or even better than the Demon with ease, so I feel that all the hype it got before and after the release is rather much. And with it being the fastest production car for “_“, “_“ and such, it’s not like people race often with unmodified production street cars, so comparing the Demon (really just a factory modified production semi-street and drag strip car) to the likes is uh…kinda funny to me. People say comparing it to the likes of the Cobra Jet Mustang and Exorcist Camaro isn’t fitting, but it’s EXACTLY that imo. Then I’m just not a Dodge guy in general and have a few things about the car as well that I don’t quite get, so overall, the Demon is an impressive package, but nothing groundbreaking imo.
But it doesn’t deserve to get compared to the CobraJet mustang. That is what the DragPak is for

people hate the demon because other people really like it. Same thing happens with the GTR and the R8
My argument for the crap handling: Its the best-handling factory-produced Challenger to date. The drag tyres may not be as good as proper semi-slicks, but they stall have massive amounts of grip
The visual differences between the hellcat and the demon are the hood scoop and the widebody kit on the demon
People are saying it doesn’t handle well? No sh!t it doesn’t handle well, it’s a Demon not a Viper ACR for crying out loud
