Why the Lada Niva is a good Off-road vehicle

First things first. I’m reviewing from Germany, prices may vary in other countries.

The pictures shows my own Niva. If you wonder why the numberplate is blurred, it’s because I don’t want to share it with everyone.

Lada Niva, a fairly cheap Russian Off-road car to buy. Here in Germany it’s priced for around 10000 euros.
But the low price doesn’t mean,it’s a bad car. Ok, I’ll be honest with you,

In case of comfort or high quality materials used by Lada, there is none. It squeaks, rattles, noisy in general, and is mostly made from plastic or cheap textiles. But that’s not what the Niva is all about.

The Niva is made for Russian terrain. It is equipped with a differential lock and a reduction gear. And if you pay a little more, you get At-tires, a roof rack, and a bull bar by stock. It has a solid axle in the rear and independent suspension in the front, as well as a maximum wading depth of around 65cm (depends on how big your tires are), and it is powered by an permanent all wheel drive.

The engine is kinda small. it’s 1.7 litre four cylinder engine produces 83 horsepower, which can get you from 0-100 km/h in around 20 seconds, and to a maximum speed of around 137 km/h.
But this engine will last you around 300k kilometres, if you take care of it.

Now the cons :

It’s small engine consumes very much fuel, in my case around 12.5 litres per 100 km. It’s fuel tank, in my case is 25 litres big. So you should know by now, the Niva is not made for long trips.

All in all, the Lada Niva is a very good Off-road vehicle for its price, and it gives a ton of possibilities, for whatever you want to with it.

Thank you for reading my review. If there is something wrong with my English language or even with the way I reviewed, then please tell me, so I can get better with it.
