C7 Corvette vs Jaguar F Type coupe R-which is the better rear wheel drive, V8, 2 door sports car?

The Chevrolet Corvette has been around for 63 years. That is an unthinkably long time in not just car time, but real time. The 7th generation, dubbed the C7, is brand new (it debuted back in 2014) and with a new engine, called the LT1, is whooping everything anyone throws at it. Partly because it’s V8 makes 460 hp and 465 LB-FT and partly because it’s dirt cheap compared to its rivals. Starting price for the base model is $55,450. To put that in perspective, to get similar power from a Porsche 911, you would have to spend twice as much. At a starting price of $120,900 the 911 is quite expensive compared to the vette. The F-Type that I’m comparing today costs $105,400. That’s without options too. With options (I’m just estimating just so you know) the price of the C7 comes to around $70k. For the number nerds out their (yes I am one too) here’s the performance specs

Engine: 6.2L V8
460 Horsepower
465 LB-FT of torque
0-60: 3.9 seconds
Top speed: 181 mph
Price (base): $55,450

The Jaguar F-Type is not 63 years old. It’s only 3-4 years old (I couldn’t find an exact number). It’s extremely pretty (the Corvette is extremely good looking as well). The supercharged 5.0L V8 is good for 550 Horsepower and an exhaust note that sounds like a guard dog barking at an intruder. It’s compared against things like the Porsche 911 Turbo and AMG GTS. It is more expensive than the Corvette, but more powerful. And not very much can beat that supercharged V8 growl. Fortunately, there isn’t far to go to find a reasonable rival. The 991 Turbo and C7 are competitive rivals to the F type and here’s a comparison video for the Vette and the F type and the AMG GTS and the F type

Corvette is a better choice over jag in my opinion, I know for a fact that the coupe r is almost to no where near controllable because of its lump of an engine. However you can always tune or add stickier tires to get the power down but from the get go the corvette will actually perform better..

Forget which is better on paper, I’d take the Jaguar.

V-Tech and EcoBoost kicked in yo

Vette, because any sports car I own won’t stay stock for long. And there is no aftermarket like the Chevy aftermarket.
