Did you remember in Gran Turismo #17 : The Suzuki GSX-R/4 Concept '01

The description from “Gran Turismo”

Suzuki is among the world’s foremost producer of motorcycles, specializing in high-performance sports bikes. To showcase its involvement with these bikes, Suzuki created the GSX-R/4 concept car, which was unveiled at the 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show. As the name suggested, it was a 4-wheeled version of their GSX-R Super Sport bike.

It was built on a custom-designed aluminium space frame, onto which panels made from recycled materials were bolted. The exposed aluminum roll bar located behind the driver, and the red, black and silver coloring mimicked the GSX-R sports bike. The vehicle was compact, measuring 131.8 inches (334,78 cm) long, 68.1 inches (172,98 cm) wide and 39.7 inches (100,84 cm) high; but what was most notable about the GSX-R/4 was its curb weight of 640 kg (1411 lbs).

The vehicle was powered by a 1.3-liter DOHC inline-4, the same powerplant used in the Hayabusa motorcycle, mounted amidships. It produced 173 HP (170 BHP) and featured an 11.000-rpm redline. Shifting was performed through a 6-speed sequential gearbox. The instrument panel included a unique advanced navigation system. In addition to the usual navigation functions, engine settings could be configured on its small monitor, and the driver could enjoy driving around a race track via simulations supervised by international rally driver ‘’Monster’’ Tajima.

The GSX-R/4 was the ideal track vehicle because it was a sports car in its purest form, and one that motorcycle enthusiasts, as well as car enthusiasts, could appreciate.

Supplement of me

The GSX-R/4 with a one of the fastest bikes in the world at that time’s engine, reaches a top speed of 181 mph (291 kmh) at 9800 rpm. For its weight, we can see that its lightness is partly due to its total roof failure, or anything that would house the driver from rain and wind. So imagine the mess that could :

Its maximum torque is 138 nm (102 lb ft) at 9 800 RPM. The unique advanced navigation system is a simple GPS sees everywhere in cars except that ‘’ Monster’’ Tajima is probably the voice.

Its weight/power ratio is 3.7 kg/hp, the equivalent of a 2004 TVR Tuscan Standard (350 hp), a 2004 Mercedes CL 65 AMG (612 hp), or a 2004 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti (540 ch)

The fast GSX-R/4 is exclusive ‘’Gran Turismo’’

I really like the design of this thing. It reminds me of the KTM X-Bow, which also has a radical design.
