In initial d they were taking about Fr and FD so what does that mean?

FR is a front-engined, rear-wheel drive car. An FD is a ‘93-‘02 RX-7, FD is part of the chassis code.

FR is a layout. FD is a chassis code/3rd gen RX-7 (Ryosuke and Kyoko’s Mazdas).

FF is front engine front drive, meaning the front wheels drive the car. FR is front engine rear drive, meaning the rear wheels drive the car. Handling characteristics change dramatically between the FF and the FR, whith the FR being the preferred layout for petrolheads/gearheads.

FD was the yellow rx7, FC was the white rx7, it’s chassis code name. FR is front engine, rear wheel drive. Most people already know this so they might be a bit impatient, but don’t worry man, it’s much better to ask and learn.
