2006 Mitsubishi Lancer GLX CS3

We did not intend to purchase a Lancer from the start, in fact my dad and I were on our way to view a Subaru WRX. While walking down the road, past many different car dealers, we saw this 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer GLX, we thought it looked decent and is also far cheaper to own and maintain, after a short test drive, we decided to buy it.

By the 3rd day of owning the car, we decided to take a trip up north, to the neighbouring country, Malaysia, to visit some relatives. On the way there my dad felt the car was pretty “floaty” and unstable, that cemented our decision to get some Coilovers to improve the handling and stability of the car. This was just the start of a long journey of building what we deem to be a beautiful car…

-1/1/2017-
Its the start of a brand new year! and here i am with updates to my ever-ongoing car build. in the last few months, many items has been checked off the to-do list.

We have finally gotten the full system exhaust which i have wanted since day one, we got some rear disc brakes fitted, swapped out the camshaft for a 272 Degrees duration high lift camshaft, swapped out the boring plain fuel rail for a fancy aluminum part, got some stickier rubbers when the old ones worn out annnnnd we also got some sound proofing added as the bassy drone of the exhaust is actually really annoying on highway speeds.

Hence without further ado, let the photos do the talking!

Built with love from my dad and I. Most of the wrenching was done by my dad, a car air-conditioning mechanic by trade. Ive given my fare share of input through opinion and sometimes helping out with the small stuff.

Just clicked on your profile because of your profile picture. I’m shocked at how similar our cars look from that angle!

I absolutely love seeing modified cars that are not as popular as others. Its more unique that way. 😃

I just realised that this might have to suffer the same fate as Marchie.

THING ABOUT THE FUTURE IS SCARY AND SAD! :C

Yep, but luckily, we took out a loan and renewed the COE for another 10years, so he’ll be safe. Till 2026 at least.

Wow man that’s a great car, i surprised that you actually buy a Lancer over a WRX

I love the way it sits and this car is freaking clean

Thanks! Actually getting a WRX was gonna be quite a stretch on our budget, so when we took a liking to this lancer, it kinda make sense to get it.

Actually we have recently done the rear disc conversion, so thats one thing checked off the to do list.
