Exactly why I plan on fixing that… They are dirt cheap… I don’t know what kind of transmission I would use, but I would really want to try and convert it to rwd and manual… I would maybe use a miata transmission
If you nab a transmission from the V6 f body’s and put strengthened internals they should come together fairly easy I have an idea of how to do it just have no where near the money to do it

I had a 97 GTP with the 3800 Series 2 supercharged. Aside form being FWD and auto, my main complain was size and weight. It is a long, heavy card, but weight reduction, RWD and stick would make this a beast! even with the stock 3800 V6!
Problem is its Unibody. And youd have to fabricate a driveshaft tunnel and trans tunnel in the interior. Youd most likely have to make a custom tube frame for the body and swap in the internals of a Camaro or Firebird that had the RWD mounted 3800s. If you dropped a superchsrger on it, its good for 300hp. But I dont know if F Body Camaros came with manuals for the V6s.
You cant do a manual trans swap for FWD cause there isnt a trans that hopks up to it. I know the 90s Lumina Z34s had a manual option that does hook up to a 3800 but it takes a little creativity. But youd also have to remap the ECU cause the trans sensor is made for automatics and wouldnt recognize the manual shifts. The rev dropoffs wouldnt be very fast and itd drive like dog poo
I am aware of all this, but if money wasn’t a thing, it would be a fun project to test my skills and it would be a unique result
