3 Reasons Why I Think The E92 M3 Is The Best of the Bunch
1) Looks
Having loved the BMW M3 for as long as I can remember there is one thing that always grabs my attention the most: they’re damn sexy! From the original squared-off shape of the E30 M3 to the sharp and aggressive angles of the F80 M3 they pull something different out the bag every time. Although, in my opinion, the E92 M3 has the best looks overall. With the subtle hints that separate it from the regular 3 series such as the bonnet bulge and meaty quad exhausts at the rear. It successfully pulls off a sleek yet angry style which has captivated me since its release.
2) What Lurks Beneath The Bonnet
Over the years BMW have experimented with a variety of different engines in the M3, from the original inline 4 to naturally aspirated straight 6 engines and now the twin-turbo straight 6. Of course these engines are fantastic but the E92 M3 possesses and engine that makes it stand out from the rest. Of course this is the 4-litre naturally aspirated and high revving LS65 V8. This engine managed to produce a healthy 414bhp at an astonishing 8300rpm! With this much power on hand the E92 can be propelled from 0-60mph in just 4.5 seconds. C’mon, what is there not to like with performance figures like that?
Sadly this engine has been discontinued as E.U. laws have changed and engine sizes have to be reduced with the addition of forced induction. On the positive side this change of regulations makes the E92 M3 even more special.
3) The Badge
The ///M badge has always been associated with the BMW enthusiast. It differentiates the performance focused machines from their more regular brothers. When you see the ///M badge on a BMW (and no, not the fake ones) your smile widens and you know you’re looking at a car which has been the benchmark for performance cars for a long time. The presence of an ///M car is as intimidating as it is inspiring and that makes them all the more appealing.
One day I hope to own one for myself, one day…

Great choice. You can pick a good one up for around £30,000 here in the UK. Not bad considering what you’re getting for your money!
