VW Mk5 Golf R32 turbo build update
Love those wiggins clamps in terms of the the durability and quality, wish the time it takes to get them is shorter though.
Custom fitted inconel heat shield done by Turbosource, looks stunning and further reduce engine bay temperature on top of the ceramic coating.
This is how the components sit in the engine bay. The wastegate is also getting shielded as it is right below the boost pipe.
Since the NA version of the Mk5 R32 never came without a sunroof, and I personally think they are nothing but problems. I was able to contact a shop called lighter and faster for a carbon fiber sunroof plug. All the sunroof related components were removed, which saved me quite a bit of weight at the highest point of the vehicle. Many brackets were welded around the sunroof hole and the precut carbonfiber penal were screwed in place and sealed with silicone sealant. With a new oem sunroofless headliner, it looks like the sunroof was never there from the inside.
It is getting really close, hopefully the car will be ready to get started within the next two weeks.

Nice build!where did you buy these jubilee clips from?
Thanks. By jubilee clips I assume you meant the purple clamps on the boost pipes? These are Adel Wiggins clamps. My mechanic bought them from fluidcontrol.net. Here is a link: http://www.fluidcontrol.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=57&Itemid=64
Nice build bro, can we see videos when it’s done ?
Of course! I was planning on recording the first start up anyways. And once it ready to go all out, I will have someone to record its quarter mile time too. Stay tuned!
Makes me miss my gti 😭
Nice upgrade. Love the carbon roof upgrade! Wouldn’t it be easier for a supercharger upgrade for that engine?
Supercharging is nice for a slight output increase I suppose. However, I’m chasing 600whp and 10 sec 1/4mile time, turbo is the only way to go for me.
Nice build, im not much of a vag guy but I always had a soft spot for the vr6/r32 golfs
Very cool! Great work my friend.
